Hanna Cinthio aka Hanouneh fuses music with political struggle in her artistry. Elements of roots reggae, soul and hiphop blend with powerful lyrics delivered in a soulful voice, creating a unique sound with revolutionary potential. She is getting recognition not only in Sweden and the rest of Europe, but also in the Middle East, where she has worked closely with the underground music scene.

Hanouneh’s work often comments on burning issues of conflict, justice, and international solidarity, and she is dedicated to bridging cultures and making transnational creative connections through her music.

Hanouneh has had a number of songs rotating on local and national radio channels and is featured on numerous mixtapes and compilation albums. She released her first international solo album Love & War in February 2011 through her own record label Don Dada. Since then she has been performing with her band at clubs, festivals, and solidarity events in Sweden and abroad, and continues to spread her message on a mission to cross boundaries, touch hearts, and break chains.

Voices about Hanouneh:

“The song Real Gaza is so addictive I can’t get it out of my head. It’s a beautiful song, in which connections are made between Gaza, the curtailment of Palestinian civil liberties and universal oppression, using the vehicle of dancehall…”
(Jamaican dancehall monitor ‘Active Voice’)

“Hanouneh is top notch. It’s all about feeling and perfect pitch, about attitude and warmth. It’s politics and love.“
(Sweden’s nr 1 reggae website ‘Svereggae’)

“The material is so strong that you continue to push your fingers red on the repeat button.”
(International magazine ‘United Reggae’)
